Steve Garrison – Residential Designer
Bachelor of Arts, Purdue University
Kitchen Design Program, National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA)
Steve claims he was born with a hammer in his hand and has been creating and building things ever since. Some of his favorite childhood toys were a workbench and tool set, Lincoln Logs and Erector Set. From an early age he was helping build things with his father and grandfather. He fondly remembers helping build his family’s home when he was ten years old and working with his grandfather building custom homes during college summers. Growing up in Northern Indiana not far from Chicago, he was enamored with architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
Prior to completing a kitchen design program with NKBA in 2002, Steve spent fifteen years in the advertising and visual arts field, founding his own design agency in 1993 and winning acclaim for his work for many clients. In 1999 he joined Direct Marketing Resources as Manager of Marketing Services, expanding the company’s creative services revenue and helping spin off his department to form Revolve, a direct marketing agency, becoming Director of Creative Operations.
His love of residential design was still active during this time and he found an outlet for it, helping renovate homes for friends and family. During a kitchen remodel on his own home, he realized that he needed to return to his roots and do what he loved for a living. He completed a kitchen design program through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) in 2002 and has been designing kitchens, baths, custom cabinets, residential additions and renovations ever since. Occasionally you might find him in the shop building custom electric guitars, one of his creative hobbies.

Karlene’s passion for design began at an early age, with dreams of one day designing, owning, and operating a Bed & Breakfast Wellness Center. She believes in the power of good design and the positive effects of a well built environment. When she’s not designing, she enjoys spending time outdoors, practicing yoga, and playing with her golden retriever named Buffy.
